Rotherham Moorgate Lawn Tennis Club is up and running and raring to go......

The Moorgate Tennis Club is situated just outside of the Town Centre of Rotherham.  There are 4 all-weather tarmac tennis Courts which give Moorgate members tennis all year round in lovely surroundings.  There is a brand new Clubhouse with changing rooms, showers, toilets (including disabled),  kitchen  and communal area.     

The Club is affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association , the Sheffield and District Leagues and the South Yorkshire Tennis League.  We have Ladies, Men's and Mixed teams who play competitive doubles throughout the year.

We also have a Junior Section and Coaching is available throughout the year

Wimbledon Draw

We have received 5 pairs of tickets to allocate by ballot. Details of the draw here and the tickets available here. The LTA decree only British Tennis members are eligible. To join for free, click here and don't forget to bring proof of membership to the Draw. The draw will form an interlude in club night and prelude to another Pizza night.

Mixed Start for Men

The men’s A team were convincing 7-2 winners of their opening fixture against Grove B last Saturday. The B team couldn’t match them sadly, going down 8-1 to a strong Ridgeway A side.

 

Veteran Pair Triumph

The Moorgate courts were packed on Sunday 19th April for a fiercely but amicably contested American mixed tournament. In the final Danielle Gaynor and Tom Fenoughty’s young legs were no match for the   guile and experience of veterans Margaret Stevens and Steve Gaynor. The tennis was enjoyed by all and a buffet lunch by all those who stayed.

Junior and SY league fixtures

Junior league and South Yorkshire League fixtures have now been arranged and are posted on the website. (click on the league of interest) Copies on the club noticeboards.
